Catherine Price

Partner Catherine Price
is a senior human resources practitioner with particular expertise
in assessment centre design and delivery. She is qualified in psychometric testing and has wide experience of
recruiting to managerial, scientific, engineering, IT, financial,
administrative and clerical posts.
After an early career
in the Civil Service fast-stream at the headquarters of the Department
of Health and Social Security in London, Catherine joined the research
councils in Swindon in 1985. She held a number of positions in line,
project and personnel management and became the first Head of Personnel
Management Services for the newly formed Engineering and Physical
Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) when it came into being in 1994.
In that role, she reviewed and modernised the personnel function, in
particular in the fields of recruitment, performance management and
manpower planning. She managed successfully a significant reduction in
staff through voluntary redundancy programmes.
In 2001, Catherine left the research councils to establish The Moor
House Partnership, an independent HR and communications consultancy,
with her husband Nigel. Based in North Wiltshire, the consultancy
provides recruitment and outplacement services, and psychometric
assessments, to a wide range of clients in the public, private and
not-for-profit sectors.
Catherine also works as an associate recruitment consultant with a
number of bodies including the AoCMS Ltd, which provides a recruitment
and assessment service to the Further Education sector, Barker’s
CMA, MDN Fusion Ltd and Nelson Griffiths. She works extensively in the
NHS as an independent assessor for the Appointments Commission.
She works as an outplacement consultant with Connect and Ceridian.
Catherine is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel
and Development (CIPD), and is an active member of its local branch
network for independent practitioners.
